I do the extended stay and man, this place has the best price on the whole West Coast of Michigan. Not only the best price in town, really... the best price I've found in West Michigan. I've stayed for two fall/winter/spring seasons and last season the rooms were upgraded with Fridge/Freezers (I have my own portable) which was awesome. Excellent Value. The staff are easy to work with and I am surprised all the other reviews aren't so great though they look like older posts or people expecting way more for the price. May be reviews prior or during renovations also. I'm surprised the bad reviews, I've never observed anything shady like some have noted. Where else can you find great pricing for the value? Best in town in my opinion.
NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH, THEY DO HAVE BED BUGS AND ALL OF THE LINENS WERE STAINED WITH WHO KNOWS WHAT. THE PLACE SMELLS LIKE STALE CIGARETTES AND THERE IS MOLD IN THE BATHTUB AND AROUND THE WINDOWS AS WELL AS THE HEAT/AC UNITS. MOST PEOPLE WHO STAY THERE ARE ALCOHOLICS OR DRUG ADDICTS. ONE NIGHT THERE WERE 3 SHERIFF'S AND 2 STATE BOYS ARRESTING ONE OF THE TENANTS. THEY WILL ALSO CHARGE YOUR CARD WITHOUT CONSENT AND CLAIM YOU STILL OWE MONEY. UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
The place smells very putrid. The front desk was never manned and the sink drain had issues. This place used to be relatively decent for an economy room, but I would much rather stay at the Days Inn (formerly the Ramada).
Only major problem is that it's advertised free breakfast and there isn't. Also it's very cheap. Meaning cheap floors and carpet. Cheap bathrooms. Out water even went out at one point and time. Clerks could not speak decent English making it extremely difficult to communicate which added irritation. Only I like is how cheap it is. Defiantly a 1 star
